Hello, my name is Mohit Dubey and I work as a Data Analyst in the Customer Success Team at CollPoll, a digital campus platform for higher education institutions. In my role, I am skilled at effectively managing reports and dashboards and analysing the usage data of the platform to bring deeper insights.
In this blog post, you will get a glimpse of my daily routine and the various tasks I undertake to ensure that our team is equipped with accurate and relevant data to drive growth at CollPoll. From the mundane tasks that keep the wheels turning to the occasional surprises that come my way, I will take you on a journey through my daily adventures. What is your usual routine to begin a workday?
I like to kickstart my day by rising at 8 AM and engaging in a refreshing running session to energize my mind and body. Following that, I usually begin my work around 10 AM, feeling focused and ready to take on the day’s tasks. This routine helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance and ensures that I am always productive and motivated.
What’s one thing that excites you the most in your day?
There’s nothing like capping off a long day of work with a fun-filled evening meet-up with my friends. I always look forward to catching up, sharing stories, and making new memories together. It’s the perfect way to unwind and de-stress after a hard day’s work, and it leaves me feeling rejuvenated and recharged.
What’s the most challenging thing about your work?
In my experience, one of the most challenging aspects is dealing with unconventional requirements. However, I’ve learned that these types of situations also present an opportunity for growth and innovation. By approaching these challenges with an open mind and a willingness to think outside the box, I’ve been able to come up with unique and effective solutions. It can be daunting to navigate uncharted waters, but the satisfaction of successfully overcoming these obstacles is truly rewarding. Ultimately, it’s these moments of trial and error that push me to be my best and help me grow both personally and professionally.
What does your typical workday look like?
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important to me, but there are times when I have to go above and beyond to ensure that everything is up to par. On these occasions, I am willing to put in the extra effort and work diligently to achieve my goals.
However, I also recognize the importance of rest and relaxation, and I make sure to prioritize my personal well-being to avoid burnout and maintain a healthy balance.
What’s the coolest part of your work?
I find that the most exciting and rewarding aspect of working with data is using my creativity to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems. Sometimes, this involves thinking outside the box and employing unique “jugaads” or workarounds to tackle data-related challenges. I enjoy the process of brainstorming different approaches and experimenting with new tools and techniques to find the best solution.

What energizes and drains you when you’re at work?
I have found that tasks that require me to learn new things are incredibly energizing and motivating for me. The sense of accomplishment that comes from acquiring new skills and knowledge is a powerful source of inspiration that fuels my passion for growth and development.
On the other hand, long calls can be draining and exhausting for me. While I understand their importance and value the process of communication, I often find myself feeling worn out after extended periods of talking on the phone. That being said, I make sure to prioritize clear and concise communication while also taking breaks to recharge when needed.
How would you describe your work experience in 3 words or less?
I strongly value the impact that technology can have and recognize the importance of continuous learning and development. The three words that best describe my work experience are – Automation, Innovation, and Learning.
What have been your best memories at CollPoll?
As I reflect on my time at CollPoll, one of my fondest memories is the team offsite trip to Coorg. The experience brought us all closer together and created lasting bonds. What really stands out to me is the sense of camaraderie and team spirit that is cultivated during our time together. This trip not only offered an opportunity to unwind and recharge, but it also strengthened our team dynamic and set the stage for continued success.
What advice would you give to someone interested in your career field?
If you are someone who is interested in pursuing a career in data science, the best advice that I could give you is to always keep exploring new techniques and possibilities. Data science is a vast field that is constantly evolving, and there is always something new to learn.
